Ministries

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry serves those in need in the local community. We do not require proof of income or other documentation in order for you to receive food. If you show up, we will help. We distribute on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 3 to 5 p.m.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation. Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, but they all share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

Alliance for Interfaith Ministries

For many years, Buck Mountain has supported the Alliance for Interfaith Ministries (AIM) with financial contributions and volunteer time. We also provide storage space for gently used household items and prepare welcome baskets, kitchen kits, and bags of household essentials for formerly homeless people moving into new apartments. For more information, please contact Leslie Richard.

Center for Jubilee Ministry

The outreach ministry of Buck Mountain Episcopal Church was recognized by the Episcopal Church as one of the Centers for Jubilee Ministry across the United States. The program focused on domestic poverty, both in service and in advocating for change of policies that contribute to the problem.

The designation was based on our work with our Food Pantry and with our pastoral ministry to local senior citizens. Although the Jubilee Ministry program came to a close, Buck Mountain continues to offer outreach to area citizens through our Food Pantry and dedication to the Alliance for Interfaith Ministries.
